The last year has made this an absolute imperative, with the pandemic pushing such processes into the digital realm and away from the branch, in most cases for good.
Hence, a shift in consumer behaviour as well as accelerated FI digitisation projects, both of which will be permanent regardless of the pandemic outcome, has occurred.
It is arguably more difficult for the larger incumbents to react at this speed but the risk of not doing so can mean customers will defect to an easier and faster outcome, albeit with a lesser known provider. A happy customer at account origination means a potentially longstanding, mutually happy and revenue-yielding relationship, after all.

LOFT, a women’s clothier, closed in late January at the Promenade Shops at Briargate on Colorado Springs’ north side It joined Talbots, another women’s clothing retailer, that closed next door. WINNIPEG Red River College (RRC) honoured a Manitoba icon for his various contributions to the community. The school awarded Gabriel Langlois, also known as ‘Dancing Gabe,’ an honourary diploma in community development. Langlois, an icon in the Manitoba sports world, can be seen dancing at nearly every single home game for the Winnipeg Jets, Blue Bombers, Goldeyes and Manitoba Moose. RRC gave Langlois the honourary diploma at its 2021 virtual winter convocation on Tuesday due to his devotion to volunteering, friendly and positive demeanor, and community spirit. At the convocation, Langlois said he is thankful to be the recipient of the honourary diploma.
More than 7,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to First Nations people living in Manitoba, according to a new First Nations vaccine dashboard released on Wednesday by the Manitoba First Nation Pandemic Response Coordination Team (PRCT) and Manitoba’s Vaccine Implementation Task Force.
